The Graveyard Book

The Graveyard Book. Children's Edition - Neil Gaiman I am sucker for children's books. There is no way I will give any children's book anything below four stars. Because how can I? They take me back to those days when life was still exciting and reading was just this amazing adventure. I am not saying life is dull now but it's just not the same.Neil Gaiman writes cool stuff. A boy raised in the graveyard by ghosts? Just how cool is that! I can imagine myself as a 10 year old wandering around the graveyard hoping some nice ghosts would adopt me after reading this book. And the final battle takes place in Krakow, Poland! I am a sucker for foreign writers mentioning Poland. The only two problems I had with this book were the following:1) The scene that opens the book. It is a very explicit murder scene. The boy's entire family is stabbed to death while they are sleeping in the safety of their home.I know kids can take more that we think they can but I think this is a bit too much. Imagine you read that as a bedtime story. - Now goodnight sweetheart, when you wake up tomorrow, we will be dead.Knife crime is a big problem in UK, so this scene may hit too close to home.2) I was a little annoyed that first chapters were seperate irrelevant adventures of Bod and the REAL story didn't kick in until after the first half of the book
